NIUU is a beacon for love and justice in Northern Idaho.
We stand on the side of love, supporting and loving one another and working

together to create a world that is fair and compassionate.

           Unitarian Universalism is a covenantal faith.
We come together to

seek truth and meaning, love more deeply,live our values more fully,
celebrate when life is good, and to support each other when life is challenging

          Unitarian Universalists do not profess a creed or set of beliefs all people must follow.  Instead we support and challenge each other to each find a path that brings us meaning and helps us be loving people, fully engaged with life.

         We draw inspiration from many sources including the direct experience of transcending mystery and wonder, wisdom from the world's religions and spiritual traditions,
the findings of science, the understanding of the humanities,
and the words of prophetic women and men.

         All Unitarian Universalist congregations affirm and promote the following principles and hold them as strong values and moral teachings:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
  • Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
  • Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
  • A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
  • The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;
  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
